The Tobacco Control and Prevention Project began in 1994 and is a collaborative agreement with Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC). The objective of CDC's Tobacco Control and Prevention Project partnership with the American Medical Women's Association is to empower individual women and women's organizations to recognize the dangers of tobacco use and to take a leadership role in helping the global community of women and girls lead tobacco-free lives.
